What I Wore

I tried a lot harder this week...

Cardigan: Old Navy, Skirt: JC Penny (old!), Boots: Steve Madden, Necklace: Made by me

This is what I wore today! It was a fun remix for me, I haven't worn this skirt in a very long time.

Shirt: Wet Seal, Necklace: Charlotte Russe, Pants: Old Navy ($2.50!), Shoes: Forever Young Shoes

I am so excited about my new crop pants! Only $2.50! I thought this was a fun spring outfit.

Dress: Ross, Cardigan: Papaya, Shoes: Target, Necklace: Made by me

I just got these new sandals at Target. Oh how I love them! This is my spring version of this dress. Click here to see the "winterized" version.

Cardigan: Old Navy, Jacket: Old Navy, Pants: Aeropostale, Shoes: Target, Belt: JC Penny, Necklace: Charlotte Russe

So I have heard that denim with denim is all the rage this season so I tried it out. Does it work for me?

Shirt: Ross, Jeans: Wet Seal, Jacket: Target, Shoes: Mervyns

You can't see all the embellishments of this shirt, too bad. It is covered with all sorts of hardware. I guess I was trying to look edgy here, ha ha.

Shirt: Old Navy, Jacket: Target, Jeans: Wet Seal, Shoes: Ross

This was a simple Saturday look. This t-shirt was only $1.

What I Wore: It's called nautical, kids

I am really excited and flattered to have reached 300 followers! Thanks!!

Oh man, I thought this was such a great outfit- totally hitting the nautical trend. But all day, EVERYONE had to tell me how patriotic I looked. It's called nautical, kids. It's okay to wear red and white stripes when it's not the 4th of July. Even an employee at the hospital taking care of my grandma said it. Then to top it all off, when I got home, the first thing husband said was "You look patriotic." Good grief. Maybe next time I should wear a sailor's cap or something.

I wore this exact same outfit again and didn't even take a new picture from last time.

I also wore this again (twice actually). Yup, same picture that you have seen before. I didn't get very creative this week. I think I need another 30 for 30.

If you are new here you can find the tutorial for the socks by clicking on this link.

In my last post, I mentioned a spring break sale. Unfortunately, that is going to have to wait. Spring break is going slightly different than I had planned, but I will have my new items and a discount code soon.

Thanks for dropping by! Be sure to check out the other outfits linked up at the Pleated Poppy!

What I Wore

Okay people, it's TRON DAY! Tron: Legacy comes out on DVD today. Oh I am Tron nerd! I am sooooo excited to watch it!

Hooray! Open-toed shoes! The weather in Utah is crazy. One day this past week it reached 75 degrees. The next morning we woke up to several inches of snow on the ground. No joke.

The top outfit is what I wore to work.

Below, is how I changed into jeans to go see a play (Hairspray!!).

I love this sweater. It's kinda hard to tell but it's white with yellow around the color, bottom, and sleeves. I got it on clearance at Shade last year at the end of the season so I haven't been able to wear it much. I am also very glad it is jacket season! (Sort of).

I don't know what else to add to this shirt. Any suggestions?

You can read all about this outfit here in my Shop Your Closet post.

I had to layer this t-shirt over a long sleeved tee because it got cold again. Boo. But check out the fun bling!

In style news, I bought a gingham shirt at Old Navy for $5 and a pair of crop pants for $2.50!

In craft news, my toilet paper art project is coming along nicely.

In other news, we are building garden boxes, getting our finances in order, buying more food storage, I am planning 9th grade graduation, I got to play racquetball at work today, I love making hummus in my mini food processor, I made green smoothies and husband actually drank one, I am going to Turbo Kick soon, next week is spring break, and I did I mention that I get to watch TRON tonight????

What I Wore: 2 weeks worth and a lot of yays!

Yay for spring! Even though it's not technically spring, we all want to think that it is so I dressed like Spring many days. This is my first What I Wore post of March so this is two weeks worth of outfits.

Yay! Bare legs! I wore this outfit today because it reached 60 degrees! I usually wear this skirt with brown shoes and a brown top but decided to go mis-matching like all the fashion bloggers say to and wore navy and mustard with it. I liked it.

I already showed this outfit when I posted about my plastic cup necklace. Go ahead! Check it out! Click the link!

I just love this jacket so I got it in a couple of times on the warmer days.

Let me tell you the story of these shoes... my mom bought them. She let me borrow them once I think. Then I was never allowed to wear them again. BUT she hardly wore them either so I went and bought my own pair. They have little jewels all around them. I tend to forget about them for awhile and then go crazy wearing them a lot like I did this week.

Dare I post this photo? I was headed to the skating rink for a school activity. (I am a jr. high teacher and apparently wanted to blend right in.)

This is the dress I bought for my wedding dinner. I wanted to accessorize it and like how it turned out.

Simple for a Sunday afternoon (also wore to work with a dif necklace a week later). I have had this sweater all winter trying to do a refashion. I gave up and just wore it plain.

Lovin' the bright colors of spring! Wore this on my Thursday night movie date to see TRON last week! YAY TRON!!!

I totally broke one of my own rules by wearing opened toed shoes on March 1st. Oh well.

I just realized that I forgot to write where I bought everything and stuff. If you are curious about something leave a comment and I will answer you. I have to jet off to turbo kick class because I need a good workout in the worst way!

Have a great week, friends!

30 for 30: week 4

Click here for week 1, week 2, week 3, and all my picks.

DAY TWENTY THREE

It took 23 days of this to notice that these two shirts had the same color of pink. Sad.
That is why we remix.

If you are new here, see the shirt tutorial
here.

DAY TWENTY FOUR

I put these pants in 30 for 3o so I would wear them more. I think I wore them 3 or 4 times this month- that is an improvement.

This was the first day I wore my Anthropoligie Accordion Strands Knock-Off Necklace. Click here for the tutorial.

DAY TWENTY-FIVE
I had to wear the necklace again. I also learned that I can wear my gray boots under my gray pants and it doesn't look terrible.

DAY TWENTY SIX

Lots of layering for a snowy day. I feel like I have been wearing the same colors over and over so I threw in this green belt.

DAY TWENTY SEVEN
I really liked how this turned out. I doubt I ever would have worn this if not for the remix.

DAY TWENTY EIGHT

So, this week on Kendi's blog I saw that she wore 2 different outfits in 1 day for different occasions. I have done that several times this month, without taking pictures, so that I wasn't cheating. I decided to put this outfit back on that I wore Sunday after church and count it. I actually did about 35 outfits when it is all said and done.

DAY TWENTY NINE

I can't believe I made it all the way to 29 without wearing this basic combo. I guess I ran out of creative juices.

DAY THIRTY!!!!

I am so glad I put this skirt in the mix. Like I said before, I have only ever worn it with white tops and white or yellow shoes. It was fun to experiment and find new ways to wear it that I love.

If you are new here, click here for the socks tutorial.

Whew! It's over! I don't know how I feel. I am proud of myself for being creative and not giving up. I now know that I don't have to buy tons of clothes to make a lot of great outfits. It's kind of been a security blanket. This afternoon I put everything back in my closet in the correct place. I was kind of intimidated to see everything that my closet holds. Too many choices.

I have no idea what to wear tomorrow.

30 for 30: week 3

DAY TWELVE

Last week I couldn't find my day 12 picture, or even remember what I wore so I didn't post it. I remembered so I put it back on and snapped a photo.

DAY FIFTEEN
I was needing some color and comfort. I had parent-teacher conferences, which means I had to work a 12 1/2 hour day. Flats for sure. HALF-WAY!

DAY SIXTEEN

The second day of PTCs. Not a very exciting outfit.

DAY SEVENTEEN
Oh how I loved this! It was so fun to wear! Ashley, did you notice that I totally copied your polka dot shirt with the gray ruffle sweater look? Thanks for the inspiration.

DAY EIGHTEEN
This is the red shirt, it just looks pink in the light. Today I learned that I could wear my gray boots under my skinny pants. I like that look a lot better. I am getting so sick of these pants. I think I would like the 30 for 30 more if I could wear jeans, but I can't wear them to work so I am limited. Next time I will add a dress or another skirt.

DAY NINETEEN
I have seen a lot fashion bloggers do this belted scarf thing. Didn't know if I could pull it off but I used a Saturday to try it and I liked it.

DAY TWENTY
I really liked this outfit because I got to wear my beautiful butterfly necklace! I had one for sale in my shop, but it sold. I would be happy to make another one, if someone wanted to order it. Plus, it was my best jewelry photography ever. (Okay, sorry, personal plug is over now).

DAY TWENTY ONE

This is very similar to an outfit that I already wore, I just have different shoes and jewelry. I was in a big hurry and didn't have time to contemplate. Oh well.

DAY TWENTY TWO

This was a big leap for me, because I have never worn this skirt with anything but black- shirt, shoes, and tights. So throwing in beige and brown was like woah!

Eight more days! I know I can come up with eight more outfits, but I am just pining away for all of the beautiful items in my closet that I can't wear!

Check out week 1 and week 2!

I have a great necklace tutorial coming up soon!! Check back!

30 for 30: week 2

It's week 2 of the 30 for 30 challenge! It's halfway over! Click here to see week 1 and here to see all the clothes I am working with.

DAY NINE

I have only ever worn this skirt with a white top and white or yellow shoes. I know, pretty basic. So I was excited to mix it in my wardrobe and I love how this outfit turned out.

DAY TEN
I think this outfit needed different shoes. One thing I will do differently for the next 30 for 30 is a bigger variety of colors and styles of shoes.

DAY ELEVEN
Not a great picture but I liked this outfit. After work I changed into jeans and wore my brown boots. We went out to the movies that night. We saw Tron: Legacy which is the coolest movie I have ever seen. I LOVED IT!!!! I can't wait to go again! I am kind of a sci-fi nerd

DAY TWELVE

?????
I can't find the picture.
Maybe I didn't take one.
Oh dear, what did I wear that day??

I went to the nickel arcade with my husband. It was a lot of fun.
But what was I wearing????

DAY THIRTEEN

I styled the yellow skirt another way for church.

DAY FOURTEEN

This is me talking on the phone and taking a picture of myself.

I had to wear red on Valentine's day!

I wrote before that we were going out to dinner.
But we decided to stay in and eat pizza and watch Brian Regan.
I love my Spencer. I don't know if you knew that.
But now you do.

30 for 30: Week 1

See my 30 for 30 picks by clicking here.

DAY ONE

I wear these peices all the time but wearing them like this got me to wear this hand-me-down necklace I had never worn before.

DAY TWO

Simple, but I was in a hurry.

DAY THREE

Read more about this outfit in my "Shop Your Closet" feature.

DAY FOUR

I think I like this outift- what do you think?

DAY FIVE

I love my yellow cardi.

DAY SIX

I tried mixing prints here and I really like the results.

DAY SEVEN

Please ignore this photo. It was at night and we had to use the flash and I had a headache so I didn't want the flash in my eyes so I closed them. Plus my bangs are bad.

If you are new here, click here for the tutorial for the shirt.

DAY EIGHT

I am almost 1/3 of the way finished with 30 for 30 and isn't what I expected. It has been really easy. I still have a lot of ideas for outfits and I am not bored of the clothes because I have so many things that I haven't even worn yet. We'll see how I feel when I am on day 20!
